Plus..

*3-D CAD diagrams, to scale, of your stage or set construction in Solidworks.

Pre-viz for costume design often looks like this:

Client's collection of inspiration images

We ask our clients to create a collection of images that inspire. These are for a fantasy wedding costume.

preliminary sketches of client's new costume design

Next: Preliminary sketches of client’s new costume design, indicating scale, silhouette and how elements can be combined.

More detailed costume rendering combining client's inspiration images

Next: More detailed costume renderings by artist Carolyn Richardson, digitally combining elements, colors, plus the client’s likeness. Layers, colors and elements can quickly be swapped out to accommodate evolution of the design, its embroideries, engineering and materials.

Description

Designers and clients rely on Pre-Viz processes!

  • Pre-Viz- meaning sketches, illustrations, CAD drawings, etc- get clients and designers “on the same page.” Fewer errors occur when pre-viz is a starting point and focus of the whole design process.
  • Pre-Viz helps us all (clients and designers) understand a project’s expectations and specs.
  • Detailed costume sketches and renderings convey important information about proportions, colors and even character traits.
  • CAD drawings prevent errors when calculating needed materials and building supplies. CAD drawings also expedite the rescaling of items so we use materials most efficiently and meet budgets accurately.
