New custom costume, for the fantastic Miss Marie-Hélène in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Custom dye-sublimation printed jumpsuit in white scuba spandex and a custom sombrero. Just for her.
Marie-Hélène sent us her visions for this costume.
Design begins with a test pattern and fit of a full jumpsuit in plain white scuba spandex knit. It is tailored and altered specifically for Marie-Hélène’s height and measurements.
We traced out a flat pattern based on our fitted and trued-up sample jumpsuit. Famous vexillologist (flag expert!) and friend, DeVaughn Simper, created the graphic design. The dye-sublimation printing on our fabric is by Colonial Flag.

NOTES: For clients interested in ordering custom printed stretch costumes.
We are still searching for a printer who can print on the super shiny “wet look” spandex (the sort that Marie-Hélène depicts here in her ai renderings).
The wet-look surface coating clogs up the fabric presses and other machinery, so for now we are sticking with matte surface spandex, matte poly knits and matte scuba. See more “Wet Look” spandex here!
